As part of the broader KPE IT team the Digital Workplace Specialist is a key player in advancing the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education’s use of modern tools and processes in support of our clients needs. To accomplish this theDigital Workplace Specialist will:Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as an expert resource on the M365 suite and similar products within the IT department
  • Meet with IT clients to determine howtheir business needs can be met with one or a combination of these products
  • Plan and implement client specific services or entirely new user facing platforms to meet those needs
  • Perform ongoing support and needs assessment of KPE uses of the M365 and other similar platforms
  • Produce and maintain documentation and user information about the platforms and applications supported by the University and the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education that provide awareness of the platforms themselves as well as aid and assistance to users seeking to make use of those platforms.
  • Work with university-wide administrators and leaders of enterprise platforms to ensure that the needs of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education are considered in the configuration of those systems.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience supporting end user computing devices on a variety of platforms (Windows, Mac), peripherals and end-user productivity software both locally installed and in the cloud.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with the M365 suite of products, specifically including but not limited to SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, PowerApps, Azure and Flow, providing both end-user support and administration of these tools.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience advising business clients on the use of technology tools to improve processes and procedures to provide economies of scale, time or alignment with broader institutional objectives.
  • Must have experience as a ‘power user’ and in using the tools provided by this suite of tools to solve business problems. Experienceas an administrator of these tools is an asset.
  • Excellent customer focused problem solver looking to solve challenging business problems with online tools
  • Team player, has a focus on collaboration and a team-focused mentality with the ability to act as an individual contributor on a project, the member of a team or as the implementation lead for a project or initiative.
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Experience with Help Desk Systems, AMS, recreation facility management software and, online registration systems, and Mac user support is an asset.
