Job Description

The La Cubana group of restaurants is currently recruiting for the role of Dishwasher at our busy location on the vibrant Ossington strip. La Cubana is well known for meticulously preparing Cuban comfort food in a casual retro setting. Reporting to Executive Chef Corrina Mozo, the successful candidate would be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain a clean workstation at all times
  • Ability to sanitize, clean and fully degrease a variety of items from dinner plates to large stockpots and cookware
  • Ability to operate a commercial dishwasher, responsible for maintenance and reporting any issues
  • Responsible for cleaning kitchen floors at the end of the night
  • Responsible for maintaining garbage room cleanliness, including refuse removal schedule
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure, balancing multiple conflicting priorities
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen, responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety throughout the work area
  • Lead by example and demonstrate pride and ownership over your work
  • Ability to change and adapt to changing circumstances, including external factors that may require duties to change in the best interest of the business
  • Keep and maintain proper inventory levels of products and chemicals such as dish soap and dishwasher fluids
  • Provide assistance and support to other teammates as needed including light prep during off peak periods and retrieval of items during peak service
  • Ability to use a variety of technology including scheduling apps, POS computers, and other devices
  • Work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 1 years minimum demonstrated dishwashing experience in a similar restaurant concept with comparable volume
  • Ability to calmly communicate with colleagues
  • Ability to balance simultaneous conflicting priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to limit waste and control costs in a high-volume restaurant setting
  • Flexible open availability
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive team setting
  • Salary Range $16 -$19 total starting compensation. Flexible and compassionate work culture. Reasonable scheduling with a focus on work life balance
