Registered Early Childhood Educator/Assistant SupervisorKids Connect Daycare is a brand new state of the art childcare facility located in East Toronto. Position overview
  • Be mentor in the centre and collaborate with members of the team to implement a high-quality program in line with our child-led, play-based curriculum, under the direction of the Director/Supervisor.
  • Facilitate daily indoor and outdoor activities to enhance the holistic development of young children.
  • Support a program that is focused on a child-led, play-based learning environment which promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Ensure the overall health, safety and well-being of the children enrolled in the program.
  • Demonstrate resiliency and understanding of the ongoing changes in the field of Early Education.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in a child care setting working with infants, toddlers and preschool aged children.
  • Ability to work the hours/shifts based on centre needs between the hours of 7:30-5:30 pm.
  • Maintain cleanliness of childcare space and organization of classroom learning materials.
  • Ensure compliance to current ministry regulations and public health mandates are exercised at all times.
Qualifications
  • ECE diploma or equivalent.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of ECE.
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate – level C.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Knowledge of the CCEYA.
  • Up to date with all current vaccinations including COVID-19 vaccines and 2-step TB test.
  • Ability to mentor and work collaboratively with colleagues to develop programs and healthy learning environments.
  • Sound knowledge of How Does Learning Happen and ELECT curriculums.
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow in the early childhood profession through professional development opportunities.
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills (English required, French and/or other languages an asset).
  • Able to bend, stoop and lift at least 30 lbs.
