Job Description

Pagemasters North America (PMNA) is seeking a full-time editor/paginator in Toronto who can work in a fast-paced news environment. As the successful candidate:You have:

  • Experience editing, laying out/designing and proofing newspaper pages for a variety of sections, from business to general news and entertainment
  • Solid copy editing, page design and headline-writing skills
  • Strong news judgment
  • The ability to get the details right while meeting deadlines
  • Superior customer service orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
You are able to:
  • Budget and map out two- to eight-page sections based on provided story lengths, and adapt quickly and calmly to sudden revisions
  • Respond quickly to breaking news and multi-task under tight deadline pressure with speed, accuracy and clarity
  • Craft strong and accurate headlines and display copy
  • Learn quickly and apply clients style rules and preferences
  • Work well independently and also as part of a team
  • Be flexible and adapt to changing client standards/needs
  • Work flexible hours, including weekend and night shifts
