Assists contractors & consultants.Performs a variety of skilled work not requiring the services of other licensed trades.Performs other related work as assigned.Key Qualifications:Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:Current member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).Experience as an Electronic Technician in the field of high frequency communications, telephony and digital technology.Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class “G” Driver’s License and must qualify for the City’s equipment operating permits and requirements.You must also have:Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment, including oscilloscope, potentiometer and other special testing devicesAbility to diagnose and locate troubles and correct same.Considerable knowledge of the principles and theory of electronics and electricity.Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment.Ability to prepare schematic diagrams and circuits and make necessary calculations.Ability to calibrate complex electronic and electrical equipment.Must have computer skills or agree to be trained and be able to apply the needed skills.Ability to understand and transmit detailed information.Ability to provide work direction and training to others.Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work.Must be available to work shifts/ weekends.Must be physically capable of performing required duties.Note: All City of Toronto employees are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of hire in accordance with the Citys Mandatory Vaccination Policy .Equity, Diversity and InclusionThe City is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to creating a workplace culture of inclusiveness that reflects the diverse residents that we serve.
