Integrate the principle of sustainability into the Ministrys decision making, programs, policies and operations by implementing the Ministrys sustainability strategy and continuing to build awarenessThe DivisionThe Transportation Infrastructure Management Division is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the provincial highway system. It also supports access to local communities through its remote airport and ferry programs. These responsibilities are carried out through the Contract Management and Operations Branch and the Investment Strategies Branch at head office and through five regions. These regional functions are described in separate entries.The OfficeThe Environmental Delivery Section carries out location/concept design studies, and all aspects of the environmental assessment process for new highways. The office provides environmental assessment, environmental protection, and specialty archaeological, acoustical fisheries and waste management services to engineering, construction and operations/maintenance projects.
