This person installs and administers the Epic operational database (ODB) environments. This person also performs environment setup and configuration, proactive monitoring, and maintenance.Responsibilities:

  • Install, Configure, and Maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers.
  • Install, Configure, and Maintain Intersystems Caché Database Servers.
  • Backup and restore databases using native and third-party tools.
  • Monitor, tune, and administer Cache databases.
  • Troubleshoot all database infrastructure issues including database backups, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Responsible for upgrades/patches to assigned database systems and software tools as required by vendor partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Epic ODBA Certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and client server connectivity concepts in conjunction with DBMS tasks
  • Strong knowledge of DBMS disaster recovery concepts.
  • Knowledge of a command shell (Korn, POSIX, Bourne, or C), plus languages and utilities such as awk, sed, and Perl.
  • Strong scripting experience using Shell, Perl, Python, Bash, etc.
  • An understanding and passion for developing highly secure and highly available systems.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere Management is a plus.
  • Experience with databases is a plus.
