Come be a part of the team.Job DescriptionThe Role:Reporting to the Supervisor, Technical Production, the Event Operations Specialist - Technology will have the unique opportunity to prepare, build, support and operate MLSE’s presentation and event technology. Primarily based at Scotiabank Arena, this position will also support all MLSE venues.Responsibilities:

  • Wide-ranging operational support of the Venue Technology department’s event assignments
  • Support requirements including but not limited to
  • Press Conferences and Media Availabilities
  • Temporary monitoring and LED display management
  • Routing and signal distribution
  • Deployment of POV cameras and miscellaneous production equipment
  • Event-based equipment inventory management
  • Support broadcasters with cabling assignments, truss builds and hardware deployments
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing technical requirements as the primary contact for small events, internal presentations and promotional activations
  • Operate arena LED display systems during concerts and touring events
  • Respond to dispatched calls for support by effectively troubleshooting outages and escalating to appropriate ownership groups
  • Occasional operation of switchers, mixers, and scoring and timing systems
  • Support and backfill for digital production group
  • Occasional administration and operation of venue digital signage systems
  • Perform other administrative or service functions as the need arises

  • Formal education in a related field or equivalent work experience of 3 years
  • Established familiarity with production control room and broadcast mobile operations
  • Proven aptitude for basic operation of video switchers, cameras, LED control systems, media converts, content management and delivery systems
  • Knowledgeable in audio and video signal patching, routing, and signal distribution
  • A punctilious self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Exceptional organization, interpersonal, time management and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates unmatched enthusiasm for live sports and entertainment production
  • Familiarity with eSports and virtual production equipment, AV control interfaces and digital signage considered an asset
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for event-based work
