Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.The Individual Financial Control teams are responsible for reconciling, monitoring and reporting related to Individual commissions and Insurance. This role helps to ensure the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions from the Individual administration systems through to the General Ledger.Key responsibilities are with the Distribution Compensation Financial Control team while also supporting the Insurance Financial Control team. Key performance elements include ensuring that all work is complete and accurate as well as identifying and escalating any control/compliance issues and offering alternatives for a solution. You should possess a natural willingness to support the team in the successful accomplishment of all objectives. You should also strive to understand your customers needs and support their requirements by setting clear expectations, and meeting or exceeding them. You will work as part of the team to develop excellence and support innovation while ensuring that the tasks performed continue to add value.What Will You Do

  • Daily journal entries to clear cash and client suspense accounts.
  • Perform daily monitoring of Advisor suspense accounts to ensure timely clearing of transactions as well as ensuring monthly account reconciliation reporting standards are met.
  • Engage in a continuous improvement working environment as well as continually support the control environment
  • Support requests to satisfy audit requirements
  • Support project work as required
What do You Need to Succeed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate effectively as a team member as well as independently with limited supervision
  • Solid problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to handle conflicting priorities and meet stringent deadlines
Nice to Have:
  • Proficient with SLF Ledger systems (Discoverer, ADI Templates, CATT, Frontier, Tableau) and Admin systems (EIM, M2, LF and Ingenium)
  • University/College education in accounting and/or business subject areas

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
