Job Description

Hi, I’m Priti from JENNY BIRD. I am the VP of Finance and Planning and we are looking for a driven, collaborative Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team! In this role, you will work closely with myself, and other members of the Finance team including our Manager, Financial Reporting and Sr. Manager of FP amp;A. You will support the team in day-to-day bookkeeping, month-end financial close processesamp; reconciliations, dashboard reporting and providing analysis over financial reporting metrics. Your support will be crucial to support the growth of our company. The opportunity includes:Financial AdministrationAccounts Payable

  • Reviewing and entering all non-complex payables transactions including vendor invoicesamp; credit card expenses
  • Compiling weekly AP reports to support and perform weekly pay runs
  • Completing bank, credit card and other key general ledger account reconciliations to assist the Manager, Financial Reporting in the month-end close processes
Accounts Receivable
  • Compiling and reviewing AR reports weekly to support cash flow management
  • Outreach to customers for past due accounts and collections
  • Posting, verification and recording customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivables
  • Investigating customer payment discrepancies and past-due amounts in collaboration with Manager, Financial Reporting and the Sales Team
The Financial Reporting Analyst will also be responsible for performing data entry, administrative and other bookkeeping tasks as required.Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Support forecasting and budgeting activities including meeting cross-functionally with internal business partners.
  • Assist with the preparation of period-end variance analysis reports and weeklyamp; monthly sales reporting along with commentary for stakeholders
  • Support the creation, analysis, and management of the forecast and budget, KPI dashboards, and financialamp; operational models
  • Develop reports to analyze performance by channel, product category, SKU, and customer.
  • Extract and analyze data to gain a deeper understanding of business performance and to support management decision-making.
Skills required:
  • Must be located in Toronto or the GTA
  • Excellent time managementamp; multitasking skills; you have held positions with multiple demands that shift daily and are able to prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detailamp; attentiveness
  • Ability to work independently
  • Previous experience in accounting (2 years) preferred
  • You have skills with common computer programs including: gmail, dropbox, excel, word, etc.
  • You have the integrity to hold private information in strict confidence, and you have the intelligence to understand which information can be disclosed to which stakeholder when necessary

Location:We have flexible working arrangements for the team. Currently, our team is working remotely 80% of the time and have been encouraged to visit the office 1-2 days a week. This position will require being in office 2 days a week, given the nature of its responsibilities.
