Job Description

The OMERS Corporate Finance team is seeking a highly motivated Financial Systems Analyst to join the Financial Systems team on a longer-term 2 year contract. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Systems, this role works with the extended technology ecosystem to operate the Finance platform, along with business stakeholders to improve Finance processes. The successful candidate will possess Oracle EBS knowledge and an in-depth understanding of Finance modules and their configuration (i.e., GL, AR, AP, E-Business Tax and Cash Management). In addition to Oracle systems knowledge, the position requires a strong working knowledge of the Finance function. An understanding of segregation of duties and system controls is also desirable.This individual will look for improvement opportunities in system architecture and process design, and recommend solutions for improvement. There will be opportunities to participate in the team’s Finance Transformation initiatives, including implementation of a next-generation ERP system.The successful candidate will be a key member of an engaged, high-reaching team—part of a world-class, winning culture that prioritizes people development and focuses on long-term growth. We go above and beyond to protect and grow relationships by anticipating needs, being honest and considerate, and valuing customers as genuine partners.As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:Recommending business process improvementsIdentifying and researching the best approach to meet business users’ needsSupporting the implementation of functional configuration changes to E-Business Suite modules (includes ledgers setups, flex-fields, mapping/look ups, workflow builder, custom library, profile options, etc.)Gathering requirements and performing impact analysis for application changesCreating test plans, test cases, test scripts and performing functional testingPlanning and completion of system maintenance, enhancement opportunities and service ticket requests, and providing status reportsWorking with external consultants for various Finance initiativesTo succeed in this role, you must have the following qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in related field3-5+ years experience supporting Oracle Financials, including demonstrated knowledge of core Oracle E-Business Suite financial modules such as AP (including Payments), GL, AR, Cash Management and E-Bus TaxDemonstrated experience in the setup, configuration, and customization of Oracle E-Business Suite Finance modulesProficient in Software Development Life Cycles methodologiesDeep background and practical experience in Finance or Accounting, including functional knowledge of accounting standards, processes, and documentsExcellent critical thinking skills to address and resolve business issuesAbility to work in cross-functional teams on simultaneous initiativesUnderstanding of innovative technologies and their application within the Finance functionYou demonstrate:A people-first focus with a desire to develop meaningful, trusting relationships across all levelsSelf-motivation, combined with a proactive desire to create positive changeA teammate mentality coupled with servant leadershipAbility to challenge, inspire and influence stakeholders at all levelsA sense of urgency, optimism, and a desire to deliver excellenceA desire to drive debate, to speak candidly and to listen empatheticallyStrong orientation towards strategy, change and results.#LI-HybridOur story:Founded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, with $121 billion in net assets as at December 31, 2021.
