More about this role
  • This role will be based out of the Cadbury Chocolate Manufacturing Plant located at Gladstone, Toronto, Ontario. We manufacture all local gems of the Cadbury brand including Dairy Milk, Caramilk, Crème Egg, Mini Eggs, Mr. Big and many more!
  • This position contributes to the overall success of the Food Safety, GMP and Sanitation agenda of the manufacturing plant. This will be done by ensuring site compliance and management of the Sanitation and GMP program of the site. This position will report into the Sanitation Leader for the site, and closely work in conjunction with the Compliance Manager.
  • Responsible for the Pathogen Environmental monitoring Program, Water testing and the Clean Equipment Swab programs for the site. Update Swab tracking system with results, and monitor for trends and opportunities for improvement. Conduct RCA and Corrective action reporting in the event of any deviations. Conduct escalations to Global Food Safety and coordinate actions as needed.
  • Support Compliance Manager with keeping the site HACCP Plan updated, by ensure Hazard Analysis, and process flow diagrams are accurate. And other tasks as assigned.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement activities related to the Sanitation Program. Includes MSS updates, updating SSOPs and provide training to plant staff as required. Conduct Sanitation audits as necessary.
  • Responsible for the management of the site GMP inspection program, including scheduling audits, training GMP inspectors, completion of GMP reports and tracking Corrective Actions status for GMP infarctions.
  • Site owner of the Glass and Hard Plastic Program at the site, by ensuring inspections are conducted as per schedule during pre-ops and GMP inspections. Manage GHP incidents and track corrective action status of each
  • Support Sanitation Leader in the management of the Pest control program by ensuring recommendations log is kept upto date, and pest control paperwork from contracted company is kept upto date. Routinely monitor trends of catch data and manage corrective actions for reduction. Support in the management of Pest control incidents and escalations as necessary.
  • Work Closely with Engineering team and maintenance teams for ensure GMPs are followed during project/construction activities at the site. Develop swabbing plans and mitigation plans for minimizing cross-contamination.
  • Responsible for conducting all corporate reporting related to Swabbing programs, Water Testing, Sanitation and Pest Control KPI. Communicating results to the plant as needed.
  • Backup to the Sanitation leader as required by managing the Sanitation staff in the plant, managing plant escalations, and ordering sanitation inventory as required. And any other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in Internal Audits as scheduled.

  • Strong knowledge & experience in managing Sanitation and Pest Control Program.
  • Strong understanding and application of GMP Requirements in a food manufacturing facility.

Education / Certifications:
  • BSc Degree in Biology, Food Science or other technical field or equivalent years of related experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of Sanitation and/or Quality assurance experience preferably in a Food manufacturing environment
