Here you can lean in and speak up and bring your own flavor.More about this roleWhat you need to know about this position:As a Front Line co-op you will support Operations initiatives to ensure high quality product is produced, on-time and at required cost. You will be involved in implementation of key IL6S improvement initiatives and have an excellent opportunity to develop strong leadership skills by leading one on more production lines for a portion of your assignment.Responsibilities:

  • Participate and/or lead in IL6S activities, including daily review meetings and AM initiatives.
  • Participate and/or lead RCA (root cause analysis) and other improvement initiatives to address safety, quality and operations losses.
  • Efficiently coordinating the labour force to perform their required job duties while achieving safety, quality and performance standards in meeting with production requirements.
  • Provide proactive Safety leadership for the line.
  • Promote and Manage activities while maintaining positive engagement with colleagues.
  • Monitor line performance and ensure output, labour and material yield standards are achieved.
  • Ensure Product and Performance data is available and accurate at all times. Prepare KPIs and Shift Reports for use at the Daily Management System meetings, and to communicate performance to the Site Leadership team and Line teams.
  • Work and Communicate across all departments in order to achieve the delivery goals and planned objectives to ensure efficient operations.
Education / Certifications: Currently enrolled in a university level Engineering program.Job specific requirements:
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to solve problems independently, analytically, and logically
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interviewing skills
  • Previous manufacturing experience will be considered an asset
Travel requirements: NoneWork schedule: Monday through Friday / 37.5hrsLocations available:
  • Gladstone Plant
  • Hamilton Plant
  • Scarborough Bakery
  • East York Bakery
