general maintenance technicianAre you looking for career opportunities within a global growing real estate companyThen you might be our next general maintenance technician.Join us and be a part of our journey.job descriptionAkelius is seeking an experienced general maintenance technician for a portfolio of multi-family communities.The general maintenance technician will be responsible for all minor and major repairs of property equipment.This will include preventative and scheduled maintenance,as well as responding to emergency requests as required.The successful candidate will possess strong communication and time management skills.

  • perform preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment including inspections of belts, monitoring fluid levels, replacing filters, greasing bearings, seals, and replacement or repair broken parts
  • repair doors, door locks, closets and installation of blinds
  • complete daily, weekly and monthly checklist on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
  • complete weekly and monthly fire checklist
  • control and monitor mechanical equipment and utility systems
  • assist with the renovations and remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster, drywall and painting
  • perform exterior property custodial duties such as snow removal
  • other duties as assigned
who you are
  • three plus years of experience in building and mechanical maintenance repair, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • experience using hand and power tools
  • problem solving- ownership of responsibilities , able to anticipate and address issues in emergency situations
  • great communication skills – able to interact with tenants, people focused, positive and stay professional
  • exceptional driving skills
