Group Benefits provides a broad range of coverage including health and dental care, emergency travel assistance, short and long term disability, group critical illness, absence management services and wellness products, flexible benefits plans, life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.Job Summary:Reporting to the Manager, Client Relations, the Service Representative assists a team of Account Executives with their clients in executing the business plan for delivering value-added benefits and service to Plan Advisors/Consultants and Plans Sponsors. The Service Representative will provide primary servicing of a block of mid to large market Group Plans (51 lives and more) to ensure client service satisfaction, conservation and profitability of our Group Benefits block of business.This role will be based in the Toronto Regional Group Office located at 2 Queen Street East until Sept 2016, then moving to 250 Bloor St, Toronto.Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the Account Executives in building and maintaining successful client relationships.
  • Support the Account Executive in the acquisition of new business; participate in finalist presentations and implementation meetings.
  • Respond to benefit plan inquiries and resolve escalated inquiries from Plan Sponsors, Plan Advisors/Consultants and Head Office department contacts.
  • Initiate Amendments requests for existing groups for submission to Head Office, ensuring that information is complete and outstanding requirements are obtained.
  • Assist with New Business processing and resolve questions on plan implementation.
  • Deliver presentations to employee groups to facilitate enrolment and/or introduce their Group Benefits (in person or via the Web).
  • Meet with plan administrators to train and educate them on effective methods of plan administration.
  • Understand the intricacies and complexities of each Plan Sponsors Group Benefits designs and the sophistication of the Advisors/Consulting houses.
  • Prepare and analyze client reports by translating data into meaningful information.
  • Act with professionalism in order to promote lasting relationships with our existing and potential customers.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of work experience in Group Benefits and/or account management.
  • Thorough knowledge of Group Benefits products.
  • Broad understanding and knowledge of trends in Group Benefits industry and applicable legislation.
  • Good knowledge of underwriting concepts.
  • GBA designation or working towards the designation an asset,must be willing to complete within 3 years of starting in the role
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and a personal automobile as some travel is required.
