Job Description

Term: Up to 2 Years Contract (Full-Time)Division/Branch: Human Resources BranchApplication Deadline: January 2, 2023Level: Level 10Salary Range: Min: $44.41 hourly to Max: $55.51 hourlyThe Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming and horse racing sectors and cannabis retail in Ontario in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.The AGCO is looking to hire a HRIS Implementation Specialist within the Human Resources Branch of the Corporate Services Division. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources Operations, the HRIS Implementation Specialist will act as a subject matter expert and provides expert advice to ERP Project Team to ensure the successful implementation of a new HRIS system. The HRIS Implementation Specialist will be the point of contact person for HR for AGCO’s first ERP system and will partner with key stakeholders and external vendors to ensure all critical paths are met. This position will also lead the design, testing and training and ensures effective and efficient processes are in place to support organizational and HR objectives related to the implementation of an HRIS.In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide expertise and advice to ERP Project Team on the best way to achieve alignment between business requirements and new HRIS solution.
  • Analyze identified gaps between business requirements/processes and system capabilities.
  • Recommend best business practices on the setup of the HRIS solution.
  • Lead ongoing roadmap discussions on architecture and features of current HRIS, working with the project team to design and implement solutions for improved processes.
  • Engage stakeholders and understand business requirements to translate into HRIS processes.
  • Lead the development and testing of HRIS modules and functions.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement and harmonization of the HRIS system in relation to company’s programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze system issues and provide system and process recommendations and implement solutions.
  • Recommend data optimization measures to improve reporting performance.
  • Develop instructional materials and user guides to end-users of HRIS.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • University degree in HR, business administration, data sciences, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications/advanced training in areas of compensation or HR Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and/or related fields.
  • Experience in designing and implementing a HRIS system including conducting needs analysis and determining business requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations with accountabilities for establishing and maintaining effective employee and position data management.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with HR, cross-functional colleagues and IT.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with experience leading projects.
  • Strong technical aptitude with experience overseeing an HRIS.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio).
  • Experience building reports/dashboards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion and handle sensitive information.
  • CHRL designation through HRPA.
