We provide advancement through training and development and our hands on managers empower people and awaken ability through responsibility and respect.Job DescriptionThe Human Resources Manager is an integral member of the HR team and is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that will result in the successful recruitment and retention of qualified restaurant management professionals. Additionally the HR Manager is responsible for assisting with the development and facilitation of various management training initiatives.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the delivery of HR initiatives, programs and services to drive employee engagement and reinforce a strong performance culture
  • Responsible for developing, adhering to and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Provide employee relations support, reliable direction and counsel for all terminations and performance documentation, ensuring all terminations meet with provincial legislation
  • Monitor health and safety guidelines and promote O&B’s commitment to health and safety by adhering to legislation and ensuring employees are trained in safe work practices
  • Serve as employee point of contact to address issues, answer questions, and process requests concerning HR policies, benefits, health and safety and leaves of absence
  • Develop strategies to recruit and fill open positions and future talent needs; work with business units to build internal bench strength through effective succession planning efforts
  • Identify high performance/potential talent and implement critical path for development
  • Participate in additional HR projects as deemed appropriate
  • Other additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in Human Resources; CHRP designation or in pursuit of
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing exceptional management talent both internally and externally
  • Strong training and development background with proven track record of developing training programs and managing the execution
  • Knowledge and practical application experience of Employment Standards Legislation in Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and Quebec
  • Strong business acumen
  • Self starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
