Job Description

Company DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Human Resource Assistant will be involved in assisting in all aspects of health and safety and recruitment, including full cycle recruitment and conducting internal food safety and cleanliness audits at all O&B locations. The Human Resource Assistant will support the existing recruitment strategy, ensuring that our recruitment efforts are finding the right talent to achieve our business objectives. Additionally, assisting with other HR administrative duties required by the Human Resources team.Job Description

  • Support recruitment of vacancies for existing O&B units, partnership and future growth.
  • Develop internal and external job postings
  • Manage referral process and conduct reference checks
  • Coordinate with operational managers/ hiring managers when requested to support applicant screening.
  • Organize and conduct interviews and assessments
  • Develop and foster positive relationships with outside partners including colleges and universities
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
  • Coordination of employee events, including: O&B Connects, Long Service Recognition, Biff’s Cup and Annual Holiday party
  • Maintain an active role in within the Joint H&S Committee
  • Provides support to management staff by communicating safety promotion plans, goals, objectives, measurements; and, fosters strong relationships with operations in order to gain commitment on initiatives
  • Assist with learning solutions for management and employees, including instructor-led and e-training, as well as on-the-job training.
  • Seeks continuous improvement to safety adherence by conducting regular health and food safety inspections and audits at each location, as well as providing input into the implementation of subsequent action plans.
  • Coordinate with other HR assistant(s) to ensure all tasks are completed on time
  • Additional duties and responsibilities, as required
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in Human Resources
  • 1 year experience in an Administrative role preferably in a Human Resources capacity
  • Experience in hospitality strongly preferred
  • Practical experience in recruiting process
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recruitment trends, best practices and sources of candidates
  • Must be able to develop strong relationships with internal clients and external candidates, gain credibility, and be seen as a subject-matter expert in Human Resources, and the Recruitment field
  • Knowledge and practical application experience of Ontario Public Health standards, Ontario Regulation 562, Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage time and workload, and ability to multi-task
