The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for a wide range of support activities inside our HR department, from maintaining our employee database to posting job ads. An important part of your role will be to act as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. The HR Assistant also assists in creating policies, processes and documents in a deadline-driven environment. The HR Assistant will report to the HR Manager.Essential duties, responsibilities and accountabilitiesOrganize and maintain personnel records.Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire guides.Full-cycle recruitment (recruitment & selection, onboarding, training).Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates).Answer employees queries about HR-related issues.Participate in HR projects (e.g., updating policies, promoting workplace safety).Incident Reporting including support with WSIB.Union Grievances and supporting with inquiries from the Unions.Maintains HR operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.Maintains employee confidence and protects HR operations by keeping information confidential.Skills and QualificationsDemonstrated judgment, tact, discretion and ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature appropriately.Ability to be organized with a strong eye for detail and high standard of accuracy.Self-motivated and excellent time management skills.Outstanding accounting and reporting skills.Strong communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written in English.Strong data processing skills.Excellent analytical skills.Education, Experience & Licensing RequirementsHigh school diploma required; post-secondary education in HR Management or related discipline preferred.1+ years of HR administration or full cycle recruitment experience preferred.Completion or pursuing of CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) preferred.ADP experience a plus.Proven working experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.), & other apps.Comprehension of Employment StandardsJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: $30.00-$35.00 per hourSchedule:
