  • Act as front- line Human Resources contact for our workforce across the country (from Halifax to Vancouver) including monitoring our shared HR email account.
  • Take the lead in maintaining data in our HRIS (Workday) for our Canadian coworkers- onboarding, employee data changes, terminations, benefits set up.
  • Assist hiring managers with creating and tracking job requisitions for recruitment in Workday.
  • Work with warehouse managers for their recruiting needs - temp agency coordination, draft contract offer letters for agency conversion of coworkers, monitor and track all contract coworker start & end dates and issue required contract extension letters as needed.
  • Be responsible for various Workday reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct new hire orientations as well as onboarding training, various health & safety training and other human resources related training; conduct exit interviews as required.
  • Assist with Benefits Administration for new coworkers as well as oversee billing.
  • Draft various coworker communications - confirmation of employment letters, general correspondence, etc.
  • Ongoing projects include coordinating and tracking annual business standards, employee handbooks, Year-End Shredding, etc.
  • Assist with employee relations issues & escalate where needed
  • Coordinate Wellness Programs, complete with monthly themes and annual events.
  • Assist with Health & Safety activities in conjunction with Health & Safety Manager - completing Form 7s, incident reports, monthly reporting/ metrics.
  • May include occasional travel between Mississauga and Guelph, ON.
  • Assist with other special HR projects as determined by business needs.
Your passion is sparked by:
  • Minimum two years of human resources experience, supporting a busy Human Resources department, preferably on a national scope coupled with post-secondary education in human resources, or related program from accredited college or university.
  • Prior working experience with Workday is highly preferred; proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good working knowledge of Canadian employment standards, Human Rights and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Business communication skills (verbal and written), including interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and deadlines.
  • Valid G drivers license for occasional travel to Guelph as needed.
  • Core Competencies include communication and organization skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, customer service skills and integrity.
