You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Application Development Consultant, you will be leading the technical design, development and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems and provide enhancements to existing technologies. You will be working closely with developers, architects and infrastructure specialists. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, delivery of successful solutions for our stakeholders, mentoring team members and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications.How youll succeed

  • Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the applications technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
  • Leadership skills - Act as technical lead and track project progress and address issues of team to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives. Support and mentor team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.
  • Soft skills – Ability to articulate comfortably and collaborate with a professional friendly positive demeanor
Who you are
  • You can demonstrate experience with: 5-7+ years experience designing, developing, implementing and supporting Enterprise Complex projects AS/400 environment. You have led the execution across multiple technologies and projects.
  • You have experience in most of the following: DB2 400, Cobol 400, RPG ILE, AS400 IBM i, IBM i - Rational Developer I, Confluence, Jira, Visio, CLLE, XML, SQL, TCP/IP, MQ, FTP, X-Analysis, Robot (job scheduler).Additional asset: Exposure to Financial Systems, Fiserv application - ICBS
  • You have experience in source control/issue management: Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Application Health-check and Innovation, DevOps adoption.
  • You are have ability to adapt easily: You can adapt easily to new updated processes and Enterprise Development Frameworks.
