To make you feel at home, welcomed, cared for, and connected to CanadaLittle Canada is a vast, highly detailed and animated journey through Canada in miniature. This permanent attraction will open in summer 2021 in the heart of downtown Toronto, in a 50,000 square foot facility. Job overviewAs a part of Little Canada’s operations team, the in-house Security Guard works to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Little Canada’s guests, staff and visitors. Working throughout the entire site to maintain a safe and secure environment, Security guards will work directly with guests and team members in a welcoming and considerate manner.What you’ll be doing
  • Provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment by providing exceptional customer service
  • Act as Primary First Responder to all First Aid incidents for all guests, team members, visitors, and any other persons onsite
  • Respond to alarms and emergencies as requested or upon discovery
  • Monitor CCTV and patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, ensure security of doors and gates, and assist in the detection and safe removal of trespassers
  • Write detailed, accurate and objective reports on any incidents, occurrences or accidents as necessary
  • Assist in the detection and prevention of theft or loss of property
What you possess
  • Security Guard License
  • Standard First aid and CPR Level C w/AED
  • A naturally friendly personality with a desire to meet, care for and connect with new people
  • Maintain a presentable uniform and approachable deportment
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, days, evenings, and holidays Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written
The Ideal candidate will have
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to relate well to all kinds of people; build rapport; be diplomatic; diffuse tense situations and respond to upset guests appropriately.
  • Experience in hospitality and tourism
  • A desire to work for an organization committed to making a positive impact in peoples lives
  • A constant desire to learn, grow, explore, connect, and think outside the box
  • Demonstrated interpersonal & teamwork skills; ability to build rapport and work collaboratively
Bonus if you have
  • Additional languages
  • Experience in loss prevention
  • Certification in conflict resolution and/or Use of Force
Working Conditions
  • This role is based at 10 Dundas East, in the heart of downtown Toronto.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and conduct moderate lifting
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, days, evenings, and holidays
  • Be willing to follow all health & safety policies and procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
