We raise awareness of family care issues central to the achievement of education and employment equity at the University of Toronto. We support current University of Toronto students, staff, faculty, postdoctoral fellows and their families with any family care related issue. The FCO has always emphasized an inclusive definition of family. As a vision, we hope the University of Toronto is a leader in supporting you in your family life as you learn and work.Your opportunity:This is a highly visible role where you will be providing information, administrative and communication support for the Family Care Office and Faculty Relocation Service. You must be able to provide a high degree of professionalism and customer service to all the staff, faculty and students who utilize the service. The Family Care Office is an equity office at the University of Toronto.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact forgeneral enquiries
  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Maintaining filing system
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance
Essential Qualifications:
  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) preferably in Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Education or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of the university and its programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in child care, elder care and other family issues.
  • Some knowledge of relocation issues for faculty and of the City of Toronto/GTA required.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and at times high volume.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word Press, Adobe Connect, SPSS, Microsoft Office Suite, social media and AMS (or similar system).
  • Must have a demonstrated attention to detail, and able to work in a team environment.
