As a versatile and technically strong IT lead, you will be empowered to lead projects with minimum supervision in a collaborative, hands-on and supportive team environment.Job Title: Infrastructure LeadReporting to: Director, Information TechnologyPOSITION SUMMARY:The IT Infrastructure Lead is responsible to lead and support the stable operation of Polytainers computer network. This includes planning, network designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. The incumbent will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware & software, network and end user workstation problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and support where required. This is a hands-on position.POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Operational Support:
o Maintains high level of operational support for internal/external customers through:
  • Request fulfilment
  • Incident management
  • Problem resolution
  • Change management
  • Project management
  • Infrastructure Management and IT Operations Support:
o Recommends and maintains high level of business continuity and support through:
  • Service level agreements
  • Capacity planning
  • Risk management
  • Performance improvements
  • Change, incident, and release management
  • Aligning with best practices and ITSM methodologies (ITIL, NIST)
  • Deployment and Facilities IT Maintenance:
  • Automates deployment and installation of software and configuration by utilizing patch management, GPO, and imaging tools.
  • Regularly maintains operating systems and applications based on business need and security
  • Regularly audits business continuity plans and disaster recovery plans, ensuring quick recovery time objectives to meet business needs.
  • Tests and audits electrical uninterruptable power supply system and backup generator.
  • Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, resource optimization.
  • Monitors and maintains data center environment.
  • Functional Support
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, software, hardware, and intranet servers.
  • Maintain system efficiency and continual improvement, through measurement and control.
  • Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
  • Regularly maintains integrity of the network, server performance, data, and security.
  • Support for application and end user training
  • Customer Service
  • Receive and respond in a timely manner to help desk and incident requests while documenting the process.
  • Acknowledge and collect relevant information to produce a desired solution or result.
  • Plan for and implement quality solutions to meet the end users’ needs.
  • Follow up with end users with end user acceptance of the solution or resolution to the incident.
  • Communicating to all levels of users effectively and clearly without prejudice.
  • Being approachable to understand and help resolve users concerns.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or College equivalency.Minimum Experience: Minimum 7 years’ experience in computing infrastructure management including network, application and data servers, installation, configuration, and administration.Additional skills: Holds valid industry certification applicable to the technologies being used, e.g. MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, ITILCORE COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills and abilities, including excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of troubleshooting skills and abilities with a focus on getting the job done right the first time. Able to identify root cause issues and quickly resolve and de-escalate problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change well and to be flexible and open-minded with regards to new solutions
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with proven solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
