The Learning Hub team provides direct support to students, instructors, and program coordinators. We recognize that the most effective approach to supporting student learning is comprehensive and multi-tiered: working with students, working with instructors and instructor assistants to develop their pedagogical expertise to provide more effective courses, and helping Concentration Liaisons and Program Directors methodically develop programs that more deliberately guide student learning across programs. Under the general guidance of the Director, Learning Hub, you will provide administrative, technical and communications support and coordinate program development activities.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating training and/or learning opportunities
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
  • Developing content forinstructional workshops
  • Liaising with internal and external contacts to coordinate execution of seminars
  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Providing technical support for unexpected problems in locally maintained applications
  • Training and coaching student staff and student leaders
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimumthree years experience in organizing and providing support to co-curricular instruction to graduate and undergraduate students
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiarity troubleshooting issues with a wide range of technologies, including audio-visual communication and presentation technology (e.g. professional-grade cameras and microphones, AV equipment)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of e-pedagogy, instructional design, micro-credentialing
  • Ability to solve complex technical and logistical problems and demonstrate natural empathy, patience and the willingness to take responsibility for finding a solution to a problem
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and listening skills
  • Abilityto exercise tact and discretion regarding confidential materials and matters (regarding all matters)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines and deal with a high volume of client demands
  • Ability to work well as a team member in a multi-professional environment working with a wide range of faculty, staff, students, and community partners
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to act on one’s own initiative with minimal supervision, within the scope of the role
  • Ability to conduct research on various topics related to para-curricular, co-curricular, and post-curricular instruction (e.g. micro-credentialing)
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, SharePoint, Acrobat Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, LibCal, Eventbrite, WordPress, Drupal, Alma, Quercus
  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, open access principles and licensing
  • Must show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
