Your Key Responsibilities In this role, you will deliver high-quality and playful home and community-based ABA therapy services to children with ASD and developmental exceptionalities across the GTA. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing compliant and quality ABA programming, teachings, and training in one-on-one settings.
  • Employing excellent time management and organizational abilities to show up to appointments on time and prepared.
  • Leveraging playfulness and tact to engage participants, adjust approach, and actively manage inappropriate behavior.
  • Compiling detailed session notes, updating end-of-session paperwork, and graphing data for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborating with the client team to develop strategies and share best practices and insights.
  • Leveraging strong interpersonal and customer service skills to provide brief summaries to the parents regarding the session and progress.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Possess a degree or a diploma in Applied Behavioural Science, Behavioural Science Technician, or Psychology.
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Instructor Therapist working with children with autism and special needs.
  • You’re a problem-solver passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with exceptionalities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to lead with compassion, attention, and care.
  • Exceptional time-management abilities to prioritize competing tasks and thrive in dynamic work environments.
  • You present yourself professionally and confidentially when working with participants, their families, and the community.
  • You lead with playfulness, fun, and patience when working with and interacting with the children and parents.
  • Thick skin to handle stressful situations and difficult behaviors from children with autism and intellectual exceptionalities, such as biting and hitting.
  • Demonstrate the grit, ambition, and passion for building your career as an Instructor Therapist with ABA Academy.
  • Willingness to learn and invest in your professional development to be the best Instructor Therapist and ABA services provider you can be.
  • You’re willing to provide home-based ABA services to clients in Downtown Toronto and have reliable transportation.
Nice to Haves
  • First Aid and CPR and CPI or SMG training is considered an asset.
  • Being a Registered Behaviour Technician is considered a nice to have.
