Job Title: Java Developer - Equity Markets Production Support Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Duration: 6+ Months Implementation Partner: Blue.cloud End Client: To be disclosed We are seeking a Java Developer with a strong background in Equity Markets Production Support to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will provide critical support for our trading systems, troubleshoot complex production issues, and work closely with business stakeholders to enhance and maintain the systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Production Supportamp; Incident Management:
  • Provide production support for trading systems, quickly diagnosing and resolving issues. Lead post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Stakeholder Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (e.g., compliance) and senior leadership, adjusting the level of technical detail depending on the audience. Remain calm and composed during crises, coordinating and managing complex operational incidents.
• Technical Supportamp; Requirements Gathering:
  • Engage with users to gather business requirements, provide technical support, and ensure that system enhancements align with business needs. You should have experience with coding languages and be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues.
• Agileamp; Software Development:
  • Work within an Agile development environment, applying modern software delivery principles like continuous delivery to improve operational systems and processes.
• Equity Market Expertise:
  • Bring a strong understanding of equity markets, particularly in a sell-side front office environment. Your expertise in the trading lifecycle, real-time server development, and multi-threaded asynchronous systems will be critical in your role.
• System Integrationamp; Connectivity:
  • Experience with the FIX protocol and hands-on knowledge of OMS/EMS systems and Cash Equities. Familiarity with Exchanges, Market Connectivity, and the Trading Life Cycle is essential.
• Clientamp; Vendor Interaction:
  • Work with external clients, FIX vendors, and support client onboarding and FIX certification processes. Provide support for client-related technical issues and ensure smooth integrations.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in Equity Markets within a sell-side front office environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with core Java development and system design.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
• Experience with real-time server development and multi-threaded asynchronous systems.
• Strong familiarity with the FIX protocol and experience with OMS/EMS and Cash Equities.
• Previous experience working directly with trading desks and troubleshooting production issues.
• Ability to support the trading desk, including early morning rotas as needed.
• Experience in client-facing roles, particularly with external vendors and clients.
• Flexibility to adapt to change and assist in evolving team and technology needs.
