Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products, as well as providing innovative clinical diagnostic testing services, as one of the leading global emerging players in specialised clinical diagnostics testing.In 2020, Eurofins generated total revenues of EUR € 5.4 billion, and has been among the best performing stocks in Europe over the past 20 years.Job DescriptionBasic Function: Reporting to the Food Testing Lab supervisor, the Chemistry Food Testing Analyst II’s primary responsibility is to provide complex food testing services in the area of nutritional labelling, such as macronutrients, vitamins, and minerals, as well as provide advanced technical support and services in R&D.Principal Accountabilities:

• Test nutritional labelling for macronutrients, vitamins and minerals;
• Perform intermediate-advanced analyses of samples, including routine and non-routine techniques, using wet chemistry and instrumentation (particularly LCMS-MS and GCMS-MS);
• Complete advanced R&D validations;
• Participate in method development and transfer protocols;
• Prioritize daily workload to accommodate daily rushes;
• Understand advanced analysis procedures and how to troubleshoot issues;
• Provide input to corrective action procedures;
• Ensure instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained;
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) when conducting the following duties:
• Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analyses, ensuring a high level of accuracy;
• Meet Quality and Turnaround Time specifications required by the client;
• Identify and communicate non-conformances to Supervisor, and action as needed;
• Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other materials;
• Provide Supervisor/Manager with updates on workstation status including advance notification of any delays;
• Adhere to Eurofins-Experchem Laboratories policies and procedures;
• Support and comply with Eurofins-Experchem Laboratories’ Health & Safety program;
• Participate, when requested, in lab and Health & Safety meetings;
• Keep work area clean, neat and organized;
• Provide general lab support;
• Maintain training records and relevant qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or Technical Diploma in a Chemistry or Food Science-related field;
• Required – 3+ years of experience in a Food or Dairy Testing Laboratory;
• Expert knowledge of LCMS-MS and GCMS-MS; working knowledge of HPLC, GC and ICP would be considered an asset;
• Understanding of the Food Testing Industry;
• Ability to handle all types of organic samples.

Technical Skills

• Good computer skills - proficiency with MS Office;
• Working knowledge of Laboratory Information management Systems (LIMS);
• LCMS-MS and GCMS-MS.
