Job Summary.To be eligible to apply for this position you must live in the Greater Toronto Area and be legally entitled to work in Canada. We are not accepting International applicants at this time.As a condition of employment, candidates must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.The Laundry Utility Attendant provides clean linen and terry to all departments.· Feed ironer and receive the linen from presser and the folder, sort and pack them on the rack.· Check all linen and sort the stain and ripped linen and place them in separate bins.· Move the packed linen rack to appropriate areas.· Sort and clean terry then move them to appropriate areas.· Fold terry and pack them in the pack.· Comply with laundry and hotel policies and procedure.· Break, lunch and dinner must be taken at posted time only or by direction of Laundry Manager or Supervisor.· Maintain a clean work area by doing any necessary sweeping and mopping etc.· Adhere to and comply with all safety regulations when handling hazardous materials according to MSDS (i.e. wearing safety goggle, aprons, mask and gloves when needed).· Safe effective use of equipment.· Use only chemicals and safety equipment provided by the Hotel.Requirement.Working Experience· Previous experience in a laundry facility an asset.Soft Skills· Strong work ethic.· Able to work on a team.Language· Good communication skills.· Ability to read, write and speak EnglishPhysical Requirements· Flexible availability.· Able to stand for long periods of time.· Able to lift and bend.· Able to work in a hot and humid environment.· Not allergic to linens, detergents and dust.The Chelsea Hotel, Toronto is committed to providing a fair and equitable work environment and encourages applications from qualified women, men, visible minorities, aboriginal peoples and persons with disabilities.
