Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director, HR Technology within the HR Operational Excellence team, the Lead, HR Technology supports the sustainment of HR systems and enabling technology by ensuring the integrity, maintenance, and operations of Workday and its impact on data integrity. The incumbent is also responsible for supporting the maintenance of foundational and organizational structures within Workday and reporting vendor incidents/issues. This incumbent has advanced configuration experience within the Workday platform and is responsible for the independent analysis of detailed concepts and knowledge application in creative ways to modify Workday modules and processes supporting improvements for the overall organization.Accountabilities:Lead the delivery, enhancement and maintenance of Workday and other HR systems for their key area of focusDevelop strategy with stakeholders to deliver new functionality, enhancements and semi-annual updatesLeverage Workday Community to identify process improvement opportunities and influence future roadmap itemsFor identified areas of change support the development, documentation, training and communication of end user materials in partnership with the HR Experience Solutions team, while ensuring documentation of new processes capture business and audit requirementsDevelop creative and innovative approaches or solutions to non-routine and sensitive operational and tactical issues to support the enhancement of HRAbility to analyze root cause of a problem and recommend approaches/solutions to increase client satisfaction and balance financial implicationsAbility to identify issues, apply judgement and find proactive solutions using expertise of Workday and work the stakeholders to influence enhancements and changesWork closely with team members to resolve system and integration issues by identifying root cause and recommend system enhancement to support increased effectivenessEvaluate current and desired functionality and system capabilitiesSupport system enhancements twice per year and provide effective communication on impact and changes to stakeholdersLead Workday configuration and design of business processes and securityPartner with other HR users in establishing and updating of foundational and organizational structure within WorkdayProactively escalate issues/risks to appropriate team and managementRegularly communicate status and challenges to team members and managementAct as a named support contact for Workday issue management including logging technical issues, escalating as needed, testing fixes, and communication outcomes to internal stakeholders as requiredSkills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in business or technologyMinimum 3+ years’ experience in Workday-specific configuration, support, business process administration and maintenanceAdvanced knowledge and understanding of Workday, including all HCM modules, Workday security model and experience with Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) and Integration delivery and maintenanceKnowledge of HR Operations and continuous process improvement initiativesProven ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders and communicate technical concepts to all levels of the organizationStrong planning and organization skillsStrong analytical skills, with high attention to details and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiativesAbility to work independently with little supervisionExperience maintaining data integrity within and across systems, conduct system audits and reconcile discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracyOur story:Founded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, with $121 billion in net assets as at December 31, 2021.
