Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Planning you will collaborate on the design and lead the execution of Data & Technology’s strategic planning. You will also act as a strategy expert, change agent and transformation champion, establishing effective relationships and working collaboratively across Data & Technology teams, business teams and external partners. You will educate employees at all levels on strategy and planning best practices, providing them with the tools and guardrails needed to maximize their individual and team impacts.Working with the Director, you will rollout Data & Technology’s refreshed approach to strategic planning and work with the Data & Technology leaders on continuously aligning their initiatives to an overall, integrated strategy. You will own the strategy map as well as guide teams, business leaders and executives to incorporate agility at the intersection of their business planning and execution.As a leader on our team, you will be responsible for:Driving the strategy creation/updating for Data & Technology, aligned to OMERS investment and operational prioritiesGuiding the evolution of the Data & Technology strategic roadmap planning approach from an annual plan to a 24-month horizonManaging the Data & Technology strategic planning process and execution of the strategic plan, which has a significant impact on the department and the broader OMERS organizationSupporting the translation of OMERS and Data & Technology strategic priorities into relevant and actionable scorecard outcomesHosting executive-level meetings and workshops for strategy, planning, and operationsResearching and proposing new strategic considerations in the context of digital, data, and FinTechEstablishing yourself as a go-to subject matter expert at OMERS in strategyDeveloping and monitoring key success factors to track the qualitative and quantitative impact of strategic planning and process changesRegularly capturing feedback and revising plan/materials as requiredTo succeed in this role, you have:A minimum 4-6 years of work experience in strategy and planning roles with measurable results; experience in consulting is a plusStrong collaboration skills, are a great teammate, and are a proactive doerAbility to identify key business objectives and craft good storytelling around themPrevious experience with setting and tracking strategic/tactical OKRsPrior experience working in transformation teams and an ability to act as a change agentStrong experience in innovative, multi-channel adoption and engagement techniquesA consistent track record in relationship-building and gaining consensus for new programs and initiativesOutstanding communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, preferably with executive audiences (social, written and verbal with a focus on plain language)ABOUT OMERSFounded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, with more than $121 billion in net assets, as at December 31, 2021.
