Job Description

Scholars Education Centre has successfully been providing tutoring of exceptional quality and service for 15 years; sharing Real Life Results with families. Scholars provides families with an affordable, professional, and comfortable learning environment that fosters lifelong growth for students in education, self-confidence, self-esteem, and socialization. We believe in developing long-term partnerships within our local communities and with families.We are located on Danforth Ave. steps from Chester subway station in the heart of Greek Town. We pride ourselves in providing a clean and professional environment for our teachers and students.Job SummaryScholars Education Centre prides itself on employing bright and compassionate teachers and mentors. At Scholars, youll do what teachers do best: make a difference in students lives by creating a positive change in their education. Scholars is committed to providing a positive learning environment for our teachers and all staff. We support teachers seeking positions within the local school board by providing valuable teaching experience that can be applied in future classroom settings. Opportunities for growth from a lead teaching position to a Centre Coordinator are available through Scholars Education Centre. In addition, our teaching positions offer flexible scheduling outside of regular school-day hours.Responsibilities and DutiesTeaching specific responsibilities

  • Instruct students on an as-needed basis
  • Accurately provide reporting regarding student progress as required
  • Attend training workshops as needed
Centre operations responsibilities
  • Oversee and schedule student programs
  • Print teaching materials in advance of Centre opening
  • Provide oversight to staff related to all educational policies and procedures.
  • Create a positive learning environment in the Centre for teachers, students, and parents, during all phases of the instructional program.
  • Review, edit and approve daily binder reports from teachers.
Staffing responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and uphold staff morale and ensure the professional appearance of the Centre.
  • Provide oversight to staff related to all educational policies and procedures.
Qualifications of a successful Scholars Education Lead Teacher include the following traits:
  • Ontario Certified Teacher or Early Childhood Educator
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills, and the ability to build relationships
  • Able to work both as a part of a team and independently
  • An ability to provide quality service that exceeds client expectations
  • A strong interest in students of all ages and the desire to help all students succeed
  • Professional, enthusiastic, flexible and energetic
  • COVID Protocol: in-person teachers be double-vaccinated
