The successful candidate must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher. The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2022, or shortly thereafter.The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and have, or be eligible for, certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate must have proven clinical excellence in the various aspects of PM&R medicine. The successful candidate will participate in the educational programs at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto and collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs. The successful candidate should be an effective teacher with demonstrated achievement in teaching and education. Teaching accomplishments include the presence of a strong track record of interests and excellence in resident and fellow education, formal training in teaching methodology, leadership as a clinical teacher and other relevant experience.Currently, St. Michael’s does not have a Division of PM&R and to ensure the candidate is well-supported and integrated into the Department, they will be affiliated with the Division of Geriatric Medicine, reporting to the Head of Geriatric Medicine. This position will support the large in-patient (including consultations to the trauma and critical care teams) and out-patient demands (including trauma post-discharge clinics) at St Michael’s Hospital as well as at Providence Health Care. As well, the position will support the large in-patient and out-patient demands of the Geriatric Medicine program in addition to participating in the educational programs at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. The Division of Geriatric Medicine, composed of 7 full time academic geriatricians, has an international reputation in clinical research, education and knowledge translation.Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.
