Job Description

Position Title: Specialist Local Marketing - Temp.Requisition ID: 28675Career Group (ADSP): AdministrativeDivision: Qc - Marketing Metro (80069072)Department: Marketing and e-CommerceWork Location: METRO ON - 5559 DUNDAS STREET W (#A-DUND)Province: Canada : OntarioPosition Type: TemporarySummary: The Local Marketing Specialist will support the development and stewardship of local marketing and communications initiatives designed to build brand equity, drive traffic to stores, increase customer engagement and make community-level connections. They will work closely with the Brand Managers on both banners to ensure a seamless brand experience across all parts of the customer journey and will ensure that brand components are optimized. They will also play a key role in the development and execution of promotional public relations, community investment & internal events for both the Metro and Food Basics banners.Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage all local marketing requests and communicate with stores on all community initiatives, campaigns, and events
  • Support the execution of consumer facing advertising at all local events, sponsorship activations and work closely with brand and digital team to evaluate and execute local community events.
  • Executes key communications components of integrated marketing campaigns for both banners (including, but not limited to Summer, Holiday and Store Grand Openings). Collaborate with businesses and community partners to identify opportunities, promote customer acquisitions, build brand awareness, and elevate visibility within the community
  • Leads or supports the planning and execution of internal employee events (including, but not limited to the annual Head Office Employee BBQ, Head Office Meeting, Head Office Holiday Luncheon, Head Office Childrens Party); provides cross-functional support to marketing during off season time.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies to manage projects within budgets and timelines.
  • Invoicing
  • Assist with community investment initiatives, including the Green Apple School Program, Toonies for Tummies, Employee Giving Program and Day of Caring programs.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies to manage projects within budgets and timelines including briefing process.
  • Assess industry and market trends to bring new insights and creative approaches to campaigns.
  • Track and consolidate period end budget data and reports; manage and process invoices.
Qualifications:
  • University degree or related education in marketing, communications, event management or e-Commerce.
  • 3 - 5 years relevant marketing, communications, or event planning experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant marketing experience in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Exceptional writing skills, verbal communications skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines, work well under pressure, and work as part of a larger team.
  • Good Knowledge of CMS tools and Google Analytics.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Internet knowledge.
  • Ability to work within budget parameters
