SUMMARYAbout the Role – Writers Room Lounge ManagerThe Lounge Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the iconic rooftop lounge. This role will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure seamless service in our outlets creating exceptional experiences for our guests and colleagues.Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Manages the lounge while supporting other Food and Beverage outlets
  • Works closely with other hotel departments
  • Responsible for short and long-term planning
  • Ensure effective hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous reinforcement
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and colleague satisfaction results
  • Full understanding of colleague engagement
  • Develop and implement creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives. Manage within those approved plans
  • Responsible for maintaining high energy, positive, professional appearance
  • Plan, coordinate & manage special events and holiday functions
  • Set and follow Health and Safety standards
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Serve as a role model for all colleagues
  • Ability to create and share cost-saving tactics and ideas
Qualifications
  • Requires full flexibility, ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
  • Local candidate with the ability to legally work in Canada
  • Must have smart serve and food handler certification
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of point of sale systems
  • Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Candidates should possess proven leadership skills
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge
  • Beverage knowledge must include wine, spirits and beer
  • Ability to create a refined and innovative bar experience
  • Luxury Hotel or independent upscale bar F&B experience is considered an asset
  • thorough understanding and compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • 4 years of progressive F&B leadership required
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, and effective in providing exceptional customer service
