Job Description

Mailroom ClerkOur client in the printing industry is seeking a dedicated professional for a role that combines reception, office, and records management support. This role is essential in ensuring a well-coordinated, professional front for visitors and colleagues alike, as well as efficient handling of office and record-keeping tasks.What is in it for you:• Hourly salary of $20.75.• 6-month contract.• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.• Work schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.• On-site work in in a professional business-casual environment.Responsibilities:Mail and Shipping Operations• Prepare mail and packages for shipment using fax, air express, freight, and postal services.• Receive, sort, and process incoming mail, packages, and supplies; notify recipients as required.• Conduct basic printing operations using color production printers.• Record and track accountable mail, maintaining detailed logs.• Manage shipping and receiving functions with automated systems.• Coordinate alternative courier or shipping services based on requirements.• Follow packaging standards for output preparation.• Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments.• Perform mail labeling, mail merge, and electronic distribution tasks.Equipment Operation• Operate mailroom equipment, including inserters, sorters, and finishing tools.• Conduct quality checks on outgoing mail to ensure accuracy.• Operate high-volume mail and insertion equipment.Reporting and Inventory Management• Generate charge-back reports for services, such as postage, air express, and local deliveries.• Monitor and maintain supplies inventory, ordering as needed.• Track, trace, and resolve mail issues or concerns.• Perform fulfillment functions, including assembly, packaging, and kitting of materials.Security and Compliance• Follow mailroom security procedures to ensure safe handling of materials.• Log, transmit, receive, and distribute faxes per security standards.Additional Responsibilities• Perform scheduled mail deliveries and pick-ups.• Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost savings.• Maintain physical activity throughout shifts, standing up to 80% of the time and lifting up to 50 pounds.What you will need to succeed:• High School diploma or equivalent (required).• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a professional setting, preferably client-facing.• 1 to 2 years of experience in a mailroom environment.• Valid driver’s license (required).• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.• Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision.• Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.• Ability to operate high-volume mail and insertion equipment.• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.Why Recruit ActionRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2000003) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach to job seekers and businesses.
