Job Description

Want to make a difference in your career Consider this opportunity!The Manager will report to the Chief Regional Officer (CRO) and will oversee the development and management of CRO office. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the CRO Office by providing strategic oversight and coordination of the CRO activities and Executive Leadership Teams (ELT) and pan-regional operations and functions, which also includes providing leadership and support to the CRO Executive Assistant and Executive Assistants across leadership teams.Here is what you will be doing:

  • Manages the executive administrative support and functions of the office of the CRO across Central and West Regions.
  • Coordinates work of the CRO office and the Executive Leadership Teams.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the administrative team to promote and develop an integrated and coordinated approach to the administrative functions of the organization.
  • Performs a wide variety of executive and strategic support responsibilities for the Executive Leadership Team, which includes initiating, planning, and managing special projects; coordinating project logistics; conducting research and analysis.
  • Coordinates and is accountable, with the CRO, to ensure that the activities, strategic communications and stakeholder engagements are aligned with Ontario Health’s Strategic Plan, Annual Business Plan and Ontario Government priorities.
  • Assists the Executive Leadership Team in the preparation of briefing notes, packages and status reports of a complex or sensitive nature the CRO, Ontario Health Board, various Ministries and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support response to local communication needs specifically related to patient and family concerns, MPP requests and provider issues. Support and coordinate engagement as needed with Indigenous partners, Francophone stakeholders, school boards, health service providers, etc. Informs and works with Director of Communications to support and influence regional communication needs.
  • Establishes and maintains stakeholder relations to enhance the reputation of Ontario Health on behalf of the CRO and Executive Leadership Teams.
  • Prepares meeting materials for the Executive Leadership Teams.
  • Uses independent judgment and takes initiative to manage the operations of the CRO Office.
Here is what you will need to be successful:Education and Experience
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in a high-level health administrative position
  • Minimum five (5) years experience working at an executive level within healthcare
  • In-depth understanding of the Ontario health care system including the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC); knowledge of the evolving role of Ontario Health; and the issues and priorities within health care and how these impact client service delivery
  • Significant experience managing budgets
  • Experience using and interpreting data from multiple sources to guide evidence based decisions and generate reports and presentations appropriate to a variety of audiences
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
  • University Degree or College Diploma in business administration, health administration, or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, Access and Visio

  • Interacts and communicates with a strong degree of judgment, discretion and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team with the ability to lead, coach, guide and mentor individuals, teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong organization, record keeping, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Planning and organizing skills and the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and act and follow-through to ensure deadlines/project deliverables are met
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to proofread
  • Exercises critical thinking and political acuity in identifying issues impacting the office of the CRO
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement principles and practices
  • Ability to identify creative solutions that address time, budget, quality
  • Ability to develop, organize, and implement office procedures and systems
  • Ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal supervision
