Job Description

Requisition ID: 128023Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.PurposeThe Manager, Mortgage Pricing Analytics coordinates and implements specific Mortgage Pricing Transformation analytics work streams. In fulfilling the role, the successful candidate will lead various working teams and work closely with all relevant stakeholders that contribute to mortgage analytics and key performance indicators. This individual exhibits a high degree of flexibility and is able to effectively manage numerous competing priorities.Responsibilities include supporting the configuration and execution of mortgage pricing optimization scenarios, management reporting on the key performance indicators for mortgage portfolio from a pricing perspective, and monitoring market conditions and the competitive landscape.Key Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Support the configuration and execution of mortgage pricing optimization activities:
Perform and review optimization scenarios and support recommendations for changes to customer segment level mortgage ratesValidate and test optimization scenario results to ensure accuracy and reasonabilitySupport the collection of all inputs to the mortgage rate optimization process to ensure customer segment level mortgage rates are in line with the current market conditions and segmentation schema.
  • Management reporting on the key performance indicators for the mortgage portfolio
Deliver business insights by effectively leveraging technical tools including SAS Enterprise Guide, Base SAS, Python and powerBI for all management reporting activitiesSupport the continuous improvement of tools and reports that inform mortgage pricing and product analytics going forwardEnsure data feeds that support analysis are available and accurate
  • Monitor market conditions and the competitive landscape
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and Other Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 3+ years of analytics experience
  • Knowledge & experience of utilizing tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide, Base SAS, Python, powerBI and Tableau for reporting and analytics
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL, and extensive experience of working on enterprise data warehouse platforms and enterprise data lake platforms (DB2/SQL Server/Hadoop)
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of UNIX including shell scripting
  • Strong analytical skills. Must be able to source and interpret data, perform analyses and make informed recommendations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of quantitative analytics and management reporting
  • Pricing methodological knowledge including quantification of customer value and price elasticity of demand
  • Experience and familiarity with analytic processes and fact-based decision making, including statistical modeling
  • Working knowledge of Sales Management and the Retail Sales Process;
  • A high degree of flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and changing priorities
