The successful candidate will report to the Director, Core Network and will support the Freedom Mobile portfolio. This position is responsible for managing a team of architects and designers providing network expertise and oversight for the design and integration of routers and switches and security elements such as firewalls and IPS/IDS throughout their lifecycle.A typical day

• Manage, support and mentor a team of IP and security architects and designers.
• Manage network expertise and oversight for the design and integration of routers and switches and security elements such as firewalls, IPS/IDS throughout their lifecycle.
• Provide network engineering support for Freedom Mobile IP Core Routing & Switching Infrastructure.
• Perform network audits for security recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers and developers with scoping of projects, ensuring that they are scoped in accordance with architectural objectives and principles.
• Assist with design and implement network access authentication solutions such as RADIUS/LDAP and IPSec and SSL VPNs.
• Support network operation teams for implementation of security policies and core routing & switching changes.

Your skills/experience

• Minimum of 10 years of directly related network security and architecture experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
• Certifications in one or more of the following: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Security, JNCIS, CISSP
• Experience with security methodologies, standards, and best practices (SOX, PCI, ITIL, and other security-related practices are an asset)
• Experience within a broad range of security sub-disciplines including the (ISC) 2 common body of knowledge domains.
• Experience with Cisco NX-OS, IOS-XE, Juniper Junos, Gigamon and F5 LTM.
• Experience with firewalls (Cisco/Juniper/Checkpoint/Palo Alto) and intrusion detection systems.
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS L3VPN, IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, datacenter security best practices.
• Experience with Cisco ASR XR routers and Cisco Nexus and Juniper switches.
• Experience participating and presenting to committees and executives.
• Excellent strategic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
• Ability to be successful in a dynamic, disruptive and transformational organization.
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge on 4G and 5G cellular technologies.
• Previous work experience with a mobile operator will be highly considered.
• Canadian government security clearance would be beneficial.

• The successful candidate will be based and hired in our Toronto Freedom location. Open to having candidates relocate.
