As we strive to be at the forefront of a complex and vastly changing retail industry, it is an exciting time to join the Canadian Tire family of companies.We are looking for a Manager of Optimization and Analytics to lead a new team within the Dealer Relations Division. The team will support the Dealer Relations’ teams, leverage their automation and data analysis skill set to improve processes across the team. This will support the Dealer Relations mandate to foster a collaborative relationship between the Corporation, CTDA and Dealers to enable the successful execution of CTC strategies and initiatives.The ideal candidate has an ability for identifying solutions with current processes, developing insights from data sets and the business mindset to deliver new opportunities. The right person for the job will apply their knowledge of automation and data analysis in solving everyday problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects and teams.What youll do

  • Collaborate with Dealer Relation leadership team to uncover challenges and create data driven solutions to address them. Build compelling presentations that synthesize finding, explain story behind numbers and communicate actionable recommendations, including dashboards to track results.
  • Provide intelligence and reporting for Dealer Relations, including producing annual dealer financial scorecards. Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting. Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of data analysts and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Design and build technical solutions to address business issues. Examples include
    • Work collaboratively with the Dealer Analysis team, analyze Dealer results, identify trends and bringing items forward for review and escalation, if required. Build models and data mining techniques which help assess the overall health of our Dealer network performance
    • Work collaboratively with the Changeover team, design, plan and build tools to improve Changeover processes within the team to drive efficiency and improvements.
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
  • Recruit and develop team to best support Dealer Relation’s needs.
  • Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within your department and design/implement solutions to meet these needs.
What you bringTechnical
  • Strong SQL and VBA skills with the ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
  • Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
  • Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets including SQL, Power BI, Python, Knime, Microsoft Power Suites.
  • Experience Automation Platforms such as Excel VBA & Power Automate/Power Apps.
  • Ability to technically critique work/projects and provide constructive feedback
Storytelling
  • Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Passion for digging into quantitative and qualitative data
  • Advanced knowledge of data management and visualization
  • Ability to create links in Data to build a story.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with applications to influence stakeholders with data.
  • Excellent team communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
