Job Title: Afternoon Shift Meat Cutter and DebonerLocation: Etobicoke, ONPosition Type: Full-Time, Afternoon ShiftSalary: $20 - $22 per hour (based on experience)Our client, a well-established and reputable company located in Etobicoke, Ontario, is currently seeking experienced individuals to fill afternoon shift positions for meat cutting and deboning roles. Our client is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace where employees are valued and provided with opportunities for advancement.Key Responsibilities:As a Meat Cutter and Deboner, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Meat Cutting: Perform various cutting techniques to prepare meat for further processing, packaging, and distribution. This will involve working with various types of meat including beef, pork, and poultry.
  • Deboning: Safely and efficiently remove bones from cuts of meat while maintaining the highest standards of quality and minimizing waste.
  • Quality Control: Inspect meat cuts and deboned sections for quality, ensuring they meet company and industry standards. Reject any substandard products and report any quality control issues to supervisors.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment. This includes proper handling, storage, and cleaning practices to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate cutting tools and machinery safely and efficiently. Ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to management.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines. Collaborate with supervisors and other workers to maintain a smooth, efficient workflow.
Qualifications:To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months of hands-on experience in meat cutting and deboning is required. Previous experience working in a meat processing or food production facility is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques, deboning processes, and proper handling of meat products. Ability to use cutting tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: This role requires physical stamina and strength, as you will be standing for extended periods and may need to lift and carry heavy items. Ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Health and Safety Awareness: A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including knowledge of food safety regulations, proper sanitation practices, and overall adherence to workplace safety standards.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must be able to take direction and work collaboratively with others to ensure productivity.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work afternoon shifts and to be available for overtime when necessary, depending on production demands.
