About Little CanadaOur vision is to entertain our guests with a magical journey of discovery through Canada in miniature, that will be amazing, exciting, and meaningful for all ages.Our mission is to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity about Canada. To make you feel at home, welcomed, cared for, and connected to CanadaLittle Canada is a vast, highly detailed and animated journey through Canada in miniature. This permanent attraction will open in summer 2021 in the heart of downtown Toronto, in a 50,000 square foot facility. Job OverviewThe Miniature World Operator is guided by our first value – we create to amaze! As part of our Miniature Makers team, you will be responsible for monitoring the daily operations of the animations in our little world and reporting to the Daily Operations Supervisor, Leader of Animated World. This will include but will not be limited to miniature vehicles, trains and boats. Day in and day out, our miniature world needs some big oversight, this will allow us to actively identify any potential incidents and control them quickly. We’ll also spend time cleaning and maintaining the parts of the world that need to run smoothly. You can guarantee this will include some very unique challenges, similar to the big world!What youll be doing:
  • Watching/Monitoring systems that control Little Canadas Animated World.
  • Identifying incidents and acting promptly based on pre-determined protocols.
  • Trouble shooting of issues and reporting to Daily Operations Specialists.
  • Maintenance and cleaning of animations, and parts of the physical world.
  • Interacting with guests who are interested in technical operations at our miniature mission control.
What you possess:
  • Experience with operating miniature devices such as RC controls, Model trains, etc.
  • Proven ability and experience monitoring multiple systems at once. With abilities to act quickly following pre-determined protocols.
  • Comfortable and confident with public speaking and entertaining
  • Electrically/Mechanically inclined is an asset.
  • Technician Level Diploma of technical discipline considered an asset.
  • 3D printing design, laser cutting and additive manufacturing experience an asset.
  • You are a tinkerer and maker in your own right.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and work collaboratively
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.
The ideal individual will:
  • Have experience in addressing large groups of people.

  • Have a constant desire to learn, grow, explore, connect, and think outside the box.
A bonus if you have:
  • Experience working in hospitality and tourism.

Working Conditions
  • This role will be based at 10 Dundas East, in the heart of downtown Toronto.
  • Daily Animations Operators can expect to be interacting with guests continually throughout their shift; they will need to stand or walk for long periods of a time and conduct moderate lifting.
  • Daily Animations Operators will work rotating shifts; weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Be willing to follow all health & safety policies and procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
