Job Description

Mobile App Product OwnerDenver Colorado, United States of America (Remote Canada / US)Hitron Technologies Americas is growing, and we are now looking for an experienced and talented individual to fill a position as a Mobile App Product Owner.As a Mobile App Product Owner you will be acting as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary creator of the product. You will also be responsible for planning and overseeing the implementation and testing of features that prove the functional and non-functional requirements of the system. As Product Owner, you will gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinates sprints. You should be able to identify user needs, help a customer understand a business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases. Your effort is important for the company as you will need to deliver product not just according to users, but the product that helps make our company vision reality. Problem solvers will thrive in this role as you will continuously be challenged to ensure feature integration and quality control under various software and firmware combinations.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Point person on the product development team, using their high-level perspective to define goals and create a vision for development projects.
  • Have a higher perspective to ensure that the team maintains a cohesive vision despite the flexible and often fast-paced nature of product development/requirements.
  • Must juggle the triangle of scope and time, weighing priorities according to the needs and objectives of stakeholders.
  • With the vision, strategy, and product priorities set, the product owner must spend a significant amount of time overseeing the actual development of the product. They are a key player throughout each event, including planning, refinement, review, and sprint.
  • Review software release notes, and customer requirements on firmware and software (mobile app and cloud services)
  • Analyze test results and identify, log and track all issues (bugs, defects, errors, etc.)
  • Review and troubleshoot issues from customer: search log files to find point of failure(s); try to reproduce issue(s); submit your findings via bug tracking tool to the appropriate team; monitor issue(s) and ensure rectification.
  • Participate in the continuous software improvement process
  • In time, interface with Hitron Customers (operators) regarding issue status
  • Test and prove that the software meets major architectural requirements
  • Work with firmware developers and validation engineers
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years of experience in product management or similar role in the telecom sector
  • 3 years of experience with Customer Premise Equipment, mobile applications and cloud services
  • Excellent knowledge of JIRA
  • Knowledge of network, Wi-Fi, and telecommunication protocol fundamentals
  • Linux environment knowledge
  • Wireshark knowledge is an asset
  • Self-directed and quick learner
  • Attention to detail, with a flare of creativity
  • Effective interpersonal skills
