Job Description

OverviewAt KPMG, youll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.The OpportunityAs part of KPMGs National Tax editorial team, the Tax Writer/Editor is a collaborative professional who will work with senior tax professionals to drive growth and opportunities for our tax practice. You will use the principles of clear and concise communication to write and edit both internal and external tax publications and coordinate their electronic production and distribution. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, self-starter who is interested in further developing their editorial skillset and thrives in a fast-paced environment while supporting KPMGs tax function.This is a hybrid position, located at the downtown Toronto office.What you will do

  • Collaborate with senior KPMG Canada tax professionals to publish a weekly internal tax journal
  • Write and edit external articles on current tax issues, including federal and provincial budgets
  • Work with authors and subject matter experts to make complex technical material more readable and understandable
  • Use online tools to publish and distribute publications to KPMG Canada tax professionals and clients
  • Manage editorial processes, including to contribute to editorial meetings, ensure appropriate reviews and oversee publication schedules
  • Coordinate with services, industries and geographies in the development and execution of technical articles
  • Work with senior editor to contribute to other National Tax editorial projects, including technical newsletters, online resources, papers and books
What you bring to the role
  • Two to three years of experience in business communications with an emphasis on corporate rather than agency work
  • A diploma or undergraduate degree, preferably in a communications-related field such as English or journalism
  • Excellent writing skills with proven success in writing and editing technical or corporate publications
  • Strong copy-editing skills with an eye for detail
  • An understanding of plain language editing and how to simplify the presentation of complex technical material
  • The ability to collaborate and develop effective relationships with authors and subject matter experts
  • The confidence to provide information, support and recommendations to senior management
  • Superior project management skills, with a positive, solution-oriented approach
  • The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience in tax would be considered an asset
