We are looking for a dynamic and poised individual to support our Network Installation & Implementation teamYou will play a key role in scheduling, executing and delivering a portfolio of construction programs to support the Inside Plant network build end to end.Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish togetherAs the Network Specialist you will be responsible for installing Core Network Equipment in TELUS Central Offices and POPs, as well as managing TELUS’ contracted workforce involved in the build of all TELUS Inside plant infrastructure.Your strong equipment installation, project management, communication skills and financial acumen will be desirable, as this role requires successful management of a diverse team of build contractors while adhering to the corporate budget. You will also maintain quality standards and compliancy to ensure installation is retired to meet strategic objectives. As a successful candidate you must be capable of working closely with internal and external teams to develop consistent operating processes within the equipment implementation.Here's howDrive high quality installation of Transport, Voice, IP and Data, equipmentDrive quality assurance on the install done by external contractorsAbility to manage physically demanding work (in all weather) and working aloft, in accordance with Worksafe policiesAbility to work on DC distribution panels including running, C-taping and terminate various gauge of DC power cableDemonstrate effective decision-making skills while under limited supervisionAbility to work with SAP, MS Office and other project management toolsUnparalleled interpersonal communication skills – can provide project update and installation progress with varied comprehension levels to Resource manager and Project ManagersQualificationsYou're the missing piece of the puzzleMust have technical proficiency and familiarity with core telecom equipment and network devicesFair knowledge of network technology, architecture and elements, and their inter-workingsMust maintain a high level of performance under pressure of time constraintsMust have a valid Class G driver's license (driver's abstract will be required) and be OK to travel in company provided vehicle as some overnight trips will be requiredMust able to analyze job packages and network drawings to implement new core equipment, and request for design update for enhancementMinimum 5 years Hand-on experience on equipment installation including cablingStrong knowledge of Inside Plant Build and Design, and ability to understand construction Job packagesFamiliarity with telecom installation standardRecipient of a diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Civil engineering, or equivalent education and/or experienceGreat-to-havesDC Power Plant installation experienceNetcracker / NPI hands-on experienceUnderstanding of TELUS field operations and Inside Plant construction processesA bit about usOur business is connecting Canadians.
