Job QualificationsRequired:

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area
OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area
Preferred:
  • People management experience
  • Familiarity with production/metrics performance environment
  • Experience preparing and managing operational budgets
  • Insurance certifications or insurance coursework
Job SummaryTo lead, motivate and develop operations support staff, supporting one or more business units in a processing location and delivering excellent service.Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities
  • Implement new systems and procedures in various departments and instruct personnel regarding them.
  • Implement recommendations on improving workflow/processes of a functional area or accountability.
  • Ensure that the volume of work produced by the unit meets or exceeds the product/service standards and quality standards.
  • Make recommendations on improving operational processes of the respective functional area of responsibility.
  • Check and report, as required, upon actual against scheduled production and production quality.
  • Responsible for the daily application of policies and procedures.
  • Conduct unit training needs analysis, coordinate training with regional processing center manager and field operations training unit.
  • Schedule and organize personnel to accommodate workflow. Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Manage employee relations issues and make staffing decisions concerning hiring, training/development.
  • Administer performance evaluations and coach/counsel others.
  • Participate in field operations, corporate operation and services projects aimed at creating or enhancing policy and data management systems.
  • Interface directly with Underwriting Business Units and involved Strategic Business Units.
  • Anticipate the needs of customers and plan to meet them individually or through others.
  • Recognize and respond to business opportunities.
  • Support implementation of customer initiatives.
  • Network with other teams to ensure comprehensive solutions to customer needs.
  • Identify, recommend and implement solutions to immediate problems.
  • Recommend and/or implement process improvements.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation, implementation and communication of established policy, procedures and operating standards is completed f or area of responsibility.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate activities. Participate in or lead risk assessment for the area of responsibility and escalate potential issues to higher management.
