Job Description

Position SummaryP5 LevelThe Partnerships Manager is a single contributor position that works with the Partnerships Team at Infrastructure Ontario to support priority projects and opportunities across IO business lines, as follows:

  • Implement strategies to standardize and professionalize IO’s client relationships.
  • Provide hands on support and advice to IO teams providing informed and sound advice related to IO’s relationships with ministries, agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and ensure teams within IO are aligned.
The Partnerships Manager will provide advice at the earliest stages of a project through to supporting approvals, execution, and delivery. There will be opportunities to inform policy decisions and contribute to delivering public infrastructure.What You Will Do:
    • Strategic Advisory Services
    • Coordinates and leads matters related ministries, agencies, and other stakeholders on initiatives
    • Provides expert analysis and interpretation of direction given and requests received by ministries/clients
    • Provides strategic advice in response to inquiries from IO teams on various interactions
    • Coordinates IO teams in fulfilling requests and implementing direction from the government
    • Engages with teams across IO to identify and prepare new projects for the Intake process
    • Ensures compliance with partnerships processes
    • Provides insights to leadership to inform partnerships and corporate strategies
    • Stakeholder Relations
    • Develops and manages relationships with political staff and other key stakeholders
    • Maintains a robust network of contacts in client ministries and political offices
    • Nurtures strong relationships across IO to create alignment and coordination between business units
    • Leads meetings to determine IO positions and inputs, building consensus across business areas
    • Manage Issues
    • Identifies and executes solutions to queries, conflicts, etc. with government officials and political offices
    • Leads early interventions to prevent the escalation of conflicts, changes in direction, information requests, etc.
    • Provides expert and informed context to resolve issues at the working level
    • Escalates issues to senior officials or political staff as IO’s representative
    • Training and Education
    • Presents government/client interactions and Partnerships tools and processes during internal training and education sessions
    • Develops training and educational materials
    • Provides ongoing education to IO teams on government relations etiquette

What We Are Looking For:
    • Experience working in the government (municipal or provincial or federal) or public sector agency coupled with in-depth knowledge of government decision-making processes.
    • Level of political acumen is an asset.
    • Well developed skills in diplomacy, negotiation, consensus-building, and problem-solving.
    • Ability to make presentations to small and large groups.
    • Highly adaptable to different working styles.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

$94,000 - $141,000 a yearThis posting will close on Sunday April 2 2023 at 11:59pm eastern.
