Through the collection as well as collaborations with leading museums around the world, the AGO presents wide-ranging exhibitions and programs to approximately 1 million visitors annually.We are currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Photographer to join our Web Services team. Under the direction of the Manager, Digital Projects, the incumbent will Photograph installations, two-dimensional artwork, archival materials, objects, and physical plant. Ability to set and operate photography equipment, profile, and calibrate studio equipment to produce high-resolution, accurate images that meet museum digitization standards. Prepares images for users and proper storage. If this sounds like an opportunity you are looking for, apply now!The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • Completion of four (4) years of post-secondary education OR an acceptable equivalent in education and practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with digital photo studio production.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional digital photography experience.
  • Specialized knowledge and demonstrated experience of the photography of works of art including paintings, works on paper and archival material.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of appropriate computer systems and software including but not limited to: Mac OSS, Adobe CS, Photoshop, and Capture One.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of photographic and processing equipment. Working knowledge of creative and imaginative photographic techniques.
  • Maintains awareness of current issues in photography.
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills.
  • Experience handling original works of art.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
