Equity and diversity related research is a core cross-cutting theme on all our research. GEMINI is also exploring into qualitative research with partner researchers on human factors and behavioural sciences in the context of general medicine delivery and patient care. Additionally, data linkage work with the Institute of Clinical and Evaluative Sciences (ICES) is underway to investigate out-of-hospital risk factors and outcomes.Recent GEMINI publications include 1) Descriptions of COVID-19 hospitalizations, care and outcomes (Verma et al., 2021 CMAJ), 2) Variations in Processes of Care and Outcomes for Hospitalized General Medicine Patients Treated by Female vs Male Physicians (Sergeant et al., 2021 JAMA Health Forum), and 3) Managing drug shortages during a pandemic: tocilizumab and COVID-19 (Verma et al., 2021 CMAJ).
