We are a stakeholder, influencer, and collaborator to the growth and expansion of multiple Financial Services products within Merchant Services. Our objective is to ensure we are building and operationalizing the best commercial pricing experience for merchants on Shopify, while ensuring profitability across the product line.We’re looking for someone to join our team and deliver on tactical pricing, and operational initiatives impacting Shopify Payments, Shop Pay Installments, and other Merchant Service products. Shopify Payments is currently available to our merchants in 17 countries (and growing) and in 2021, Shopify Payments processed over $85B in GPV. This is a unique opportunity to make financial decisions that directly impact large merchants, their business success, and Shopify’s bottom line.Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of account level unit economics for Shopify Merchants
  • Curating custom credit card, local payment method, Shop Pay Installments and other financial services processing rates for Shopify Merchants.
  • Analyzing, understanding and explaining how market cost trends are impacting merchants processing costs, and Shopify profitability.
  • Cost analysis and comparison for prospective and existing Shopify Merchants between Shopify rates and third party rates.
  • Supporting the Plus Sales team, Money Sales team, and Retail Sales team through detailed pricing analysis.
  • Maintaining and improving tools and resources associated with the rate review process.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Basic math skills
  • An analytical brain with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills as well as evidence of ability to promote and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • The ability to make nuanced decisions in fast paced situations
  • The desire to dive into the payments space and become a subject matter expert
Bonus experience:
  • A general understanding of the payments industry, credit card networks and the life-cycle of a transaction
  • Knowledge of Shopify Payments and/ or Shopify Plus products and merchants
  • Knowledge or desire to learn SQL as it relates to creating standardized reporting
